Use this if you're smartphone free or don't want the distraction of getting sucked into your phone when you snap a photo. It’s also just cute. Great for teens who don’t yet have a smartphone.
Get yourself (and kids) an old school alarm clock. This way you don’t have to bring yours into your bedroom. [HELPS AVOID DOOM SCROLLING INTO THE NIGHT]. You pick the alarm clock (this photo is just for funzees), just make sure it doesn’t rely on a smartphone to set the alarm.
Did you know you can purchase a special pouch where you can put your phone in jail? There are a few different people who make these. A popular one is called Yondr. Another option is a timed lock box, lovingly referred to as a phone bed. When it’s time to unwind for bed, first put your phone to sleep (and lock it tight). Then put yourself to bed without digital distraction. This lock box is made by Mindsight, but there are others out there.
These phone options are great if you don't want a phone that has internet access. Good for younger teens who need a phone to get in touch. Find them at dumbwireless.com. Another variation of this is called a “Bark phone” - Google it.
These are great when your child needs a way to contact you, and they’re not yet ready for a phone. Once you buy the watch it costs about $8/month for data.
